Cooperation with SPNAs

Together with specially protected natural areas (SPNAs) RusHydro implements a wide range of environmental activities aimed primarily at conservation of biodiversity and ecological education of the younger generation.

With the company's funds, SPNAs carry out activities to regulate and use rationally biological resources important for biodiversity conservation; help to protect ecosystems and natural habitats of viable species populations in natural conditions; ensure preservation and maintenance of knowledge of indigenous and local communities that are important for biodiversity conservation.

With the financial support of RusHydro, SPNAs carry out activities to help to protect ecosystems and natural habitats and preserve rare and endangered animal and bird species, such as: Amur tiger, snow leopard, Persian leopard, bison, Caucasian tur, musk deer, white-tailed eagle, Manchurian, Japanese and white-naped cranes, demoiselle crane, manul and others.

The company annually provides charitable assistance to the environmental education departments of SPNAs and finances the organization and holding of various educational events. On a regular basis, RusHydro together with employees of SPNAs and environmental public organizations organizes excursions on ecological paths, photo exhibitions about flora and fauna of protected areas in the regions where the company operates, children's drawing contests, quests, festivals of ecological orientation.
